After months upon years of researching, designing and testing the teleportation system was successfully tested. With further refinement the technology should be widely available within five years.

Received my vote. Funny, not offensive with a touch of irony. Scientists often ignore the reality of their work (the elephant in the room) when hot on the trail of something exciting.
